Elon Musk Twitter Resign CEO Seat When Replacement Found

Posted on December 24, 2022December 25, 2022 by Admin

Elon Musk Twitter has seen an explosion of user interest in recent months. The platform now boasts more than 100 million active monthly users, up from 10 million last March. Elon Musk tweeted Friday that his plans to step down as Twitter CEO are being delayed after discovering one person is getting the upper hand on who succeeds him. In a new tweet shared with followers, Mr. Musk wrote, “I have decided not to stand for re-election as CEO of @Twitter at this time. I will stay on as Chairperson until such time that we can reach agreement on a permanent successor.”

Musk promised to abide by the results of his poll on Sunday, asking Twitter users whether he should step down as CEO. At the poll’s conclusion on Monday, 57.5 percent said he should resign.

Musk, who typically makes extensive use of the platform, did not tweet immediately following the poll. He finally broke his silence when he said, “Interesting,” to several suggestions that the poll’s results were skewed by fake accounts.

Twitter has had a tumultuous year with many high profile departures including co-founder Jack Dorsey, Instagram head Adam Mosseri and Snapchat boss Evan Spiegel leaving their positions over disagreements about how the social media giant should be run. Twitter announced on Wednesday it would end its $1 billion round of funding as part of cost cutting measures.

Twitter shares dropped more than 4% in early trading on Tuesday following news that founder and former Twitter COO Parag Agrawal was joining Tesla as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Meanwhile, Google is set to change the privacy policy for some third party apps. These changes affect everything from YouTube and TikTok to Spotify and Netflix — and even to your Gmail account.

“We’re going to build stronger partnerships around transparency in our data,” Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai told employees during a conference call on Monday. “It’s the right thing to do across the industry and it’s a necessary tool for the future of competition.”

On Sunday, Elon Musk Twitter responded by restricting all connects to other informal organizations, including Mastodon, Instagram, Facebook, and, surprisingly, minor stages, for example, Nostr, utilized by the Twitter organizer Jack Dorsey, and Linktree, a landing page creation instrument inclined toward by powerhouses.

After a Twitter poll from the Twitter Safety account, Musk said: “That ban was rescinded by the end of the day.” Proceeding, there will be a decision in favor of significant strategy changes. I am sorry. will not occur again.”

Musk has a track record of using Twitter polls to veto major decisions. For instance, he sold a tenth of his Tesla holdings following a poll in 2021, reinstated Donald Trump’s account following a second poll last month, and reinstated a number of suspended accounts following a third poll. Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” Musk tweeted after the Trump survey.

Twitter is currently led by Mr. Musk, but this isn’t likely to remain the case forever if there is another suitor for the role within six months. So far, none seem interested in replacing him.

Twitter is scheduled to report results on July 26. If there is no replacement found soon, then Mr. Musk could still step down as Chairman, but any remaining stock still belonging to other shareholders would go back into the treasury.

Forbes reported earlier this month that Twitter is looking for new leadership. Among those mentioned were Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey and Andrew Bosworth. In December 2020 it was rumored that SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk is under consideration to become Facebook’s next chairman.
